ALL IN-PERSON WORSHIP & GATHERINGS HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE Read More Here…

We get so wrapped up in the “important” things that fill our lives—our status, our stuff, our expectations, our image–that it’s jarring to hear “it’s not about you.” Even Jesus’ closest companions keep getting it wrong. They barely notice that Jesus focuses on the young, the humble, the marginalized, and others who rarely have a voice. Join us during Lent as we explore how Jesus flips the script. Once we let get go of our own baggage, we might just discover that it really has been about us all along.

Ash Wednesday, Feb 26 – It’s not about your status.

Focus Text: Mark 9:30-37

Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent. The cross on our foreheads reminds us of our humanness, our sinfulness and our mortality. The disciples are so busy debating who is the greatest that they don’t hear Jesus attempting to explain what is going to happen to him.

Sunday, Mar 1 – It’s not about your stuff.

Focus Text: Mark 10:17-31

Do I have my priorities straight? Do I trust in myself and in my stuff more than I trust in God? These are the questions we should be wrestling with during the weeks that lead us towards Easter. What is the value of all this stuff in our lives and what is most important?

Sunday, Mar 8 – It’s not about your place.

Focus Text: Mark 10:32-52

For a third time, Jesus predicts his coming suffering and death. It might finally be sinking in for the disciples that it will be up to them to carry on. 2000 years later, do we remain blind to God’s vision or have we found our callings to be faithful servants?

Sunday, Mar 15 – It’s not about your desire.

Focus Text: Mark 12:1-12 (13-17)

We work hard, every day, tending to the vineyard of our lives. We’re rightfully passionate about providing for ourselves and our families. But with all this effort, how often do we lose sight that everything belongs to God?

Sunday, Mar 22 – It’s not about your self.

Focus Text: Mark 12:28-34

What really matters?  It is a question we are all asking as the world is changing so rapidly.  It is the question that Jesus was asked.  His response was to love God and to love our neighbors as ourselves.  How do we love our neighbors in this time of social distancing?

Sunday, Mar 29 – It’s not about your power.

Focus Text: Mark 13:1-8, 24-37

Humanity has been created to be capable of accomplishing many truly impressive things. But human accomplishment pales to God’s vision for the world. How do we keep God’s plan in the forefront of our minds and shaping the work we do?

Palm Sunday, April 5 – It’s not about your expectations.

Focus Text: Mark 11:1-11, 14:3-9
