The Adult Forum meets on Sundays during the program year (September through May) during our Education Hour from 9:40am until 10:40am. Provocative and thoughtful conversations are intended to spark your imagination and help participants explore the full spectrum of faith and life. Guest speakers and featured presenters on a whole range of topics are scheduled and curated by the Adult Ed Committee. Often the topics are intended to compliment the stories that are explored in worship or others areas of our life together.
Lent is a time to reflect on spiritual practices. To help us with this, we have invited Diane Boroff, a volunteer for “Minnesota Contemplative Outreach.” She will introduce us to the practice of Centering Prayer.
In the Gospel reading we hear of the healing of the blind man Bartimaeus. The Lions Club is committed to testing eyesight of school children throughout the country. Come hear today’s guest presenter, Optician Joe Juettner, tell of this important effort taking place here in Minnesota.
Join in on the Intergenerational activity.
Using the reading of the day we will learn about using the scriptures to guide us in spiritual practices, facilitated by Pastor Ruth.
Michael Chan, associate professor of Old Testament at Luther Seminary, will join us to talk about apocalyptic texts from the Bible and the way these texts intersect in surprising ways with today’s culture.
The Adult Ed Committee welcomes your participation in their planning process. Contact current chairperson Carol Swanson for more information or to share your ideas.
