Remember that mission trip we talked about going on this summer to Appalachia?  We’d planned to go the first week of August and our mission project was helping people rehab their homes and learn about people in another part of the country.  With this Covid stuff, obviously that did not happen.  But, our friends at St. Luke’s who we traveled with last year have invited us to participate with them on a “mission trip” to North Minneapolis.  We’d work on a home and it would be outdoor work.  Good Neighbors, the organization that we were going to work with in Appalachia, has come up here and is partnering with a local organization called Urban Ventures.  So what does it involve?

Dates:  Monday, Aug. 3 – Friday, Aug. 7

Options:  You could come every day all week, some days or half days as your schedule allows.

Transportation:  Each family would be responsible for getting their son or daughter to and from the work site in North Minneapolis

Precautions:  We will wear masks and there will be other precautions taken.  You’d only do indoor work if you had agreed to it in advance

Who?  Pastor Betsy and those who have completed 8th grade through adults.

Cost:  Like a mission trip, there is a cost but this is a “suggested donation” of $70 a day or $350 for the week.  This could be paid out of your student fundraising account or by the individual.  We do not want money to be a barrier, so scholarships could be available.

Please let Pastor Betsy know as soon as possible if this is something that you are interested in or finding out more about at betsy@poproseville.org.
