Confirmation at Prince of Peace includes learning, growing, playing games, and asking questions about faith.  Students participate in Confirmation during 7th and 8th Grades and are confirmed in the fall of 9th grade.  Here are highlights from the past two years for this year’s Confirmation class.  Their 7th grade year focused on the biblical story which included a winter retreat, creating a paper machete tomb for Holy Week, and painting bible stories on ceiling tiles as part of a larger congregation art project.

In 8th grade, Confirmation focused on Luther’s Small Catechism using a service-learning approach.  The students participated in the intergenerational Fall Retreat at Camp Wapo and a winter confirmation retreat at Luther Point Bible Camp.  Some highlights of the year included baking communion bread, serving at Second Harvest, and teaching kids the 10 Commandments through puppet shows and game shows.

Because of the pandemic, we switched to Confirmation on Zoom in spring 2020 and this fall have had good weather for our “Outdoor Classroom” Confirmation experience.
