March 1 – April 11

The annual MN Food Share March Campaign is a statewide food and fund-raising drive to support over 300 food shelves throughout the State of Minnesota. Many faith communities, businesses, and community organizations are involved to meet food insecurity needs in our state.

Prince of Peace is once again participating in this campaign and is a registered supporter committed to collect food for our Keystone Food Shelf down on Rice Street and to donate money to the MN FoodShare Campaign to share with the other 300 food shelves throughout the state.

There is a grocery food cart outside of the main church entry during business hours, most days 8am – 4pm. Items needed are nonperishable foods, soaps, toilet paper, women feminine hygiene products, and diapers. Gary Peterson faithfully delivers these items to Keystone Food Shelf.

Cash donations are the most efficient way to donate. Monetary donations stretch to enable food shelves to buy in bulk and to purchase fresh produce and dairy products. Send check made out to Prince of Peace with MN FoodShare written on the memo line – church address is 2561 N. Victoria, Roseville 55113. On April 12 a check from our church donations will be sent to the MN FoodShare Office. The money will be divided among all 300 food shelves. Our Keystone Food Shelf will receive a proportional amount of the matching
funds.

Some food insecurity facts:
• 9% of Minnesotans have incomes below poverty level.
• 400,000 Minnesota children, seniors and people with disabilities receive SNAP benefits.
• Food Justice is based on the idea that “access to nourishing food is a basic human right”.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS
