This year marks Prince of Peace’s 60th anniversary of being a partner congregation with Lyngblomsten. I have such a soft spot in my heart for Lyngblomsten. I volunteered there as a high school student, I have been in the building to do countless visits, I have brought kids there to volunteer, and my grandfather was cared for there during the last three weeks of his life.

Personally and professionally Lyngblomsten has been a meaningful part of my life. As a partner, we have the benefit of being a part of their mission which says, “Influenced by Christ, Lyngblomsten provides a ministry of compassionate care and innovative services to older adults in order to preserve and enhance their quality of life.” Their ministry is our ministry. From those women who founded Lyngblomsten 115 years ago, to the hundreds of staff who work tirelessly to provide good care, administration, and ministry, we give thanks to God for the people of Lyngblomsten.

Let us pray:
Gracious God, we give you thanks for the care and ministry that Lyngblomsten has been providing for over a century and for our partnership and part in their ministry. From the Care Center to The Gathering to community services, our life is better because Lyngblomsten. We ask that your Holy Spirit lift up the residents and employees who have walked through such a difficult year. May they feel your presence and our love. Keep our partnership strong so that we can continue to do the work you have called us to do, loving our neighbors with the love that comes from you. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
