Here is a quick look at issues and actions addressed by the Congregational Council on June 9:

Preparations for the semiannual meeting of the congregation on June 27.

• Approved a draft annual operating budget to be presented for review and approval as required by our bylaws.

• Approved a draft motion to repair the roof. The motion, which will be presented to the congregation for action on June 27, would authorize spending up to $304,000 for the purpose of repairing designated areas of the church roof, installation of required safety rooftop safety barriers, and installation of interior stair access to the roof.

• Appointed a team to plan how the congregational meeting will be conducted.

• Discussed the need to provide background information on the proposed roof project and recommended holding a Building Renewal Q & A session prior to the congregational meeting. This meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 23 at 7:00pm on Zoom and in-person at Prince of Peace. Click here to join via Zoom.

Discussed next steps in the “Liberating Structures”, St. Paul Area Synod project. The initial training session for the project will be on June 19.
