Julene Hawkins is joining the PoP Staff as our new Youth Director beginning July 14.
She grew up in New Brighton, attending Abiding Savior Lutheran Church where she was active in youth activities. She also had the opportunity to travel to Iringa, Tanzania to visit the congregation’s partner congregation. Julene served as a counselor at Camp Wapo and was a volunteer at the National Youth Gathering in Houston in 2018. In addition, she was an intern with the campus ministry program at the University of North Dakota.
In addition to her passion for ministry, Julene works .8 time as a nurse at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital.
You will have a chance to meet Julene at outdoor worship on July 18. She will be part of the leadership team for Serve & Learn Week and VBS. We are fortunate to have a month of overlap with both Cori and Julene on staff, which will provide continuity in this transition.
Her role will be working with middle school and high school youth, as well as intergenerational events.
Julene will be installed in worship on August 1.
