Some of us in our Prince of Peace community are beginning to feel the effects of aging. Life at times can begin to be difficult. Perhaps we are thinking more and more about what it will be like in Heaven.

  • Will we need to climb up the golden staircase?
  • Will St. Peter welcome us at the pearly gates?
  • Will we be met by a heavenly host of angels and seraphim?
  • And of course, will we have a much-awaited reunion with family and friends who have died and already made the journey into eternal life.

As I think of eternal life in Heaven I believe that:

Through Holy Baptism we are joined to the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and are blessed to be a child of God forever.

With great assurance, I believe that life in Heaven will be free of disease, pain, and suffering. That there will be no more earthly fears, but everlasting peace. That all in Heaven will be equals with no distinctions of color of skin, nor economic or academic status, nor physical or mental differences.

In Romans 8: 38 – 40 we learn that Our Savior Jesus Christ died for us and through His resurrection, we too live and nothing can separate us from the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer:
Dear Lord of Hope, you loved us before we were born. You know us and guide us along our Earth journey. May your love and grace sustain us On Earth as we look forward to eternal life with you in Heaven forever and ever. May we then be blessed to be part of the glorious company of saints. In your name we pray. Amen
