The community will gather this day to remember our dear friend and long-time active Sheldon Ekstrom. Read his obituary here. Sheldon has a large family and a wide circle of friends from a variety of parts of his life and we hope all will be able to join us safely for at least some portion of our planned activities. The safety protocols we are continuing to rely on for keeping our community healthy will shape this time together. We hope to take advantage of our outdoor gathering spaces as much as possible for this day. We encourage visitation to takes place outdoors both prior to and following the memorial service. We will use the gym for visitation if weather dictates. Our safe capacity limit for the sanctuary and the gym allows for no more than 80 attendees. Some additional seating will be available in the Reception Room where the YouTube live-stream will be displayed. Masks are required for all persons while indoors.
As a show of hospitality to Sheldon’s family and friends from other settings, we would encourage Prince of Peace members to consider leaving sanctuary seating for those who may not have the option of tuning in online. If you live nearby, we hope you would still join us for the outdoor visitation before or after the service.
