“Our partnership between Bomalang’ombe and Prince of Peace was established in 2002.  Since then up to now we have succeeded to send to school the total number of 92 children in whom most of them have performed well, succeeded and came later to be pastors, some of them now are evangelists, some of them are teachers, some of them are lawyers, we have the community social workers, we have the electrical engineers, technicians, we have the drivers, we have the masonry and etc.  Some of them also they continue with school at secondary level and colleges & universities.”

On October 13th we held Zoom calls with our companion congregations of Bomalang’ombe and Vikongwa in the Iringa area of Tanzania. The paragraph above was part of the Partnership report from Bomalang’ombe, sharing with us the impact of our scholarship support over the years.

Each November Prince of Peace holds a fundraiser to support scholarships and other needs within our companion congregations of Bomalang’ombe and Vikongwa for students who attend nine different secondary schools.  An average scholarship is $400/year (for 4-6 years).  For the 2021 school year, scholarships were provided for 20 students from Bomalang’ombe, 2 students from Vikongwa, and a theological extension program for evangelists and other church spiritual leaders.  We also contributed to a scholarship equity fund that provides scholarships for students in the Iringa Diocese that are members of unpartnered congregations, and to a Post Secondary Scholarship fund that helps students from the Iringa Diocese go to colleges and universities.

So far over $10,000 has been raised brining us closer to our goal of $12,000!

Please keep our companion congregations and supported students in your prayers!  If you would like to support our companions financially you can donate online using the ‘Tanzania Mission’ fund, or write ‘Tanzania’ in your check memo.

Asante sana! (Thank you very much!)
