Keystone’s next drive-through food distribution is taking place on Saturday, April 9th at the Roseville Public Works Building, and WE NEED YOUR HELP! We plan to serve roughly 700 households at this event, and participants will need to pre-register to participate. Each household will receive produce and shelf-stable items. This event will mimic a drive-through model where cars pull up and volunteers put the food into the participant’s vehicles.

We plan to have two volunteer shifts as we will need help with prep before the event and tear down afterward. We need between 35-40 volunteers per shift for the event to run smoothly. All of the volunteer roles are active ones! While we will have a warming station where volunteers can take a break, volunteers will be on their feet and moving for most of the event and will need to be able to lift 20 pounds.

The event is an indoor/outdoor event. The building has large garage doors open through the event so that 5-6 cars can drive through at a time. The building will protect volunteers and staff from any precipitation, but the garage doors will be open throughout the whole event, and it may get chilly! If you’re interested in signing up, you can do so via the sign-up links below!

First Volunteer Shift (8:30 am – 11:45 am):

The first volunteer shift will be from 8:30 am – 11:45 am. During the first part of their shift, volunteers will be tasked with assembling produce and dry goods bags. All of the produce and dry goods will come loose, so we will need to bag them and get them ready for distribution. Then around 9:45 am, volunteers will be assigned to distribution roles – directing traffic, greeting participants, helping with sign-in, and loading the food into participants’ vehicles. Volunteers will help with the distribution for the remainder of their shift.

Our COVID-19 precautions are as follows:

  • Masks are welcome but not required.
  • All participants will stay in their vehicle throughout the pick-up process and volunteers will be assigned to specific stations.
  • As mentioned, the large garage doors will be open during the event to allow for more ventilation in the large building.
  • We ask that if anyone is feeling sick, has someone in their household who is sick, or had a known exposure to someone who has COVID-19, to please stay home.
