The congregation council is calling for volunteers to serve on two new teams.

Visioning Team
The congregation council is calling for volunteers to serve on a Visioning Team set to launch on Saturday, September 24 with a day-long onsite retreat led by Mary Frances from Frances Consulting & Coaching.  Mary is an experienced coach and consultant and has been working with Prince of Peace leadership through the St. Paul Area Synod Liberating Structures program for the last 18 months.

The purpose of this team is to create a vision statement that describes the community of faith that Prince of Peace aspires to become as we fulfill our mission to build the church and love the world. Please consider joining this team if you are a dreamer who likes to imagine a better world and how we make it happen.

September 24 Retreat; 10:00am to 2:30pm, Lunch included:

  • Together we will spend time in the Word and explore the case for having a vision statement.
  • Before looking too far forward, we’ll look at the history of Prince of Peace and consider the strengths as well as concerns for the future.
  • Finally, we will provide training for the one-to-one relational meeting and organize a listening plan for the team and congregation.

Team Member Roles:

  • Engage fully in the work of creating an inspiring and achievable vision for Prince of Peace.
  • Attend all meetings of the team and participate fully.
  • Bring an open mind and heart as well as a curiosity about what the Holy Spirit is up to in your congregation and community.
  • Create and participate in a listening plan to engage the congregation and community in shaping the vision.

Time Frame:

  • mid to late September through the end of the year.

Time Commitment:

  • Approximately 4 meetings plus additional time for one-to-one conversations, listening posts, and other ways to find out the hopes and dreams of the congregation.

Mission Staffing Exploration Team
The mission staffing exploration team will create a proposed plan for staffing Prince of Peace that is aligned with our mission, vision and values.  The team will review our current and proposed ministries to prioritize them according to how each will contribute to achieving our vision.  The team will then prepare a staffing plan that shows the positions and percent of time per position needed to support each ministry component, with recommendations for a staffing budget based on the projected amount of available funding. Please consider joining this team if you are good at making resources stretch to achieve goals.

Time commitment: The team will begin in early September and complete its work by November 1.  The work will require four to six meetings, of which half will be Zoom and half in person with a Zoom option.
