We arrived at the train station at 7:30. We went to a waiting area to make lunches for everyone. The train allowed us to board at 8:35am because we were a big group and needed more access to seats. To Chicago the ride was about 8 hours, it was a little longer because we were stopped on a bridge for 33 minutes, per Betsy’s counting. There was a dining car section that had so many windows and tables we could sit at. It was super hard to travel between sections because the train was really wobbly.

In the lower area of the dining car there was a concessions area we got to buy food and snacks at. The train got to Chicago around 5. We left the train and had to walk about a mile to get to the hostel. When we got here we found rooms and chose our bunks. Afterwards we walked to Giordano’s where we were going to have dinner but they were fully booked. We went to Taco Maya instead which was still really good, a local hip taco joint. After, we walked to target to get groceries. When we walked back to the hostel is was getting dark out. We got back and met as a group for a meeting and devotions. Now bedtime before more adventures tomorrow. 🙂 – Summer & Natalie
