Fall Worship Series begins Sunday, September 11, 2022

Without a doubt, it has been a rough couple of years.  There isn’t an aspect of life that hasn’t had to be re-imagined.  This is also true for the life of faith, especially one that’s best lived in community.  But God never stopped working in and through each of us to deliver on the promises God has made.  At the start of this new school year and as we transition from the slower days of summer into the increasing busyness of fall, let’s take some time to remember what God has been up to all along.

In our worship, we’ll return to the story that has been recorded, told, and retold for generations.  In our life together, we’ll be reminded that God continues to come to us, reforming and renewing the world so that we might better experience the gift of love that fuels all that needs to be done.  And, quite simply, because we’re a better church when we are together, come and feel the embrace of hope that we have been missing for far too long.

Sunday, September 11 – God’s Work, Our Hands Sunday
Genesis 6:5-22; 8:6-12; 9:8-17
On a day we remember death and destruction, we are reminded that God remains faithful, even to imperfect people.  Acts of terror, just like catastrophic acts of nature, are no match for the power of God’s promise to continue loving the world. So how do we respond if and when we trust in this promise?

Sunday, September 18 – It’ll be great, trust me
Genesis 12:1-9
When someone makes a grand promise, what does it take to believe them?  As much as we want to trust, it can still be really hard to rely on others.

Sunday, September 25 – Big Dreams, Bigger Worries
Genesis 39:1-23
Even when things are going right, the unexpected can still change your course.  One steadfast hero’s story shows that hope can still be found.

Sunday, October 2 – Escaping to Freedom
Exodus 14:5-7, 10-14, 21-29
When your back is against the wall, it’s understandable to feel trapped. But remembering God’s promise might just set you free.
