“Refugee Services 101” with Lynn Mullin, Volunteer Program Coordinator with Lutheran Social Services

Refugee Services 101 provides a brief look at some of the key questions we often receive about refugees: What makes someone a refugee? Where do they come from? What is the process of getting to Minnesota? What do agencies like Lutheran Social Service do once they arrive? We will also take some time to discuss the unique nature of the recent waves of refugees from Afghanistan and Ukraine, as well as how individuals and congregations can help.

Lynn Mullin is the Volunteer Program Coordinator with Lutheran Social Service’s Refugee Service program. She is a theater teaching artist by training and has been managing volunteers in various capacities for over a decade. At LSS Refugee Services, the Volunteer Programming team is dedicated to connecting community organizations and individuals with our clients at a critical point in a refugee’s life, whether it be through donations of time, funds, or much-needed items.
