By Erika Wold and Addy

Some of you may have had the pleasure of meeting Addy at a Family Fun Night, helping out with VBS, or working in the kitchen during an event. For those of you who haven’t met her, Addy is a Roseville sophomore, always willing to lend a hand, self-confident, assertive, and hysterically funny. We are lucky to claim her as a close friend and lucky to sometimes have her in tow at church and events with our family. She comes through the doors with little background in faith or religion, yet enjoys every minute of her time spent within our community.  This made me curious to talk to her about what it is that draws her in and where she finds meaning and I was inspired and heartened by her response, so much so that I think it needs to be shared.

“When I go into Prince of Peace there is always a sense that I am a part of something, a part of a community. I also love the feeling of how everyone there is a family. That’s why I attend some of the activities at Prince of Peace. Plus, the volunteer work is one of my favorite things to do- like Spooky Music and the Tanzanian dinner. I love helping people any way I can and Prince of Peace provides the perfect opportunity to help out. I really just love the atmosphere; it’s like a breath of fresh air from my stressful day”.

There is a place for everyone in Children and Family Ministry. This is just one of the many great examples of the impact that Prince of Peace and the Children and Family Ministry can have on not only our church family but also on the members of our greater community as well.
