Epiphany Worship Series Begins January 8

Ever since Noah’s family encountered a rainbow in the sky and Sarah & Abraham’s future was symbolized by the stars in the heavens, God’s people have been looking up to be reminded of the promises God has made.  The wise ones followed a star and found the revelation of God’s very self, come now in Jesus.  At the start of this new year, the story that Matthew shares with stargazers like us will be like a telescope, pointed at the promise-filled sky, and the Kingdom of Heaven is ready to be discovered.

Sunday, Jan. 8

  • Focus Text: Matthew 3:1-17
  • “Looking Closer Still” – Ancient astronomers followed a star and God’s very self was revealed. Now, John the Baptist declares God’s reign is no longer only experienced from a distance. -Pastor Peter Christ

  • Focus Text: Matthew 4:1-17
  • “Who’s Asking?” Jesus’ baptismal identity, just like our own, helps us to see more clearly the world as it is and as it should be. -Pastor Peter Christ
