Knowing what to expect when the weather gets bad.

Minnesotans know that winter can deliver real challenges with snow and ice this time of year. As a community that prioritizes care for each other and our neighbors, there are times when we will adjust our activities to help folks stay safe. Know that we take cues from the Roseville School District (ISD 623) and when their leadership determines it’s not safe for students and staff to be gathering in their facilities or commuting back and forth, we will follow this guidance as well.

When Roseville Schools cancel classes, cancel activities, or announce early dismissal due to weather events, Prince of Peace will:
  • Postpone or cancel any scheduled meetings, music rehearsals, ministry gatherings. (Some activities may be able to continue if remote connectivity was already planned and in place.)
  • Close the facility, including the office, and encourage staff to head home or work remotely.
  • An email will be sent to affected groups and the voice mail recording on our phone system will be updated.
We will use similar caution on school holidays, Saturdays, and Sundays when direct announcements from the district have not been issued. In the event of Sunday worship:
  • Staff & Leadership will consult and determinate if cancelling or postponing worship is warranted. A decision to cancel one or more services will be made at least one hour before the scheduled worship time.
  • In the event of cancellation, an email will be sent to the full congregation and the voice mail recording on our phone system will be updated. As we are able, we will also post messages on our entry doors, website, and Facebook page.

Our facilities will remain closed until the property entryways and parking lot have been cleared of snow. If a facility closure is expected for multiple days, announcements will be issued and updated daily.
