On Affordable Housing and our Interim Sacred Settlement

Wednesday, February 8, 6:30pm

Join members of our Affordable Housing and Sacred Settlement Teams, as we provide an update on the state of our Interim Sacred Settlement and efforts to take on the challenges of affordable housing in our neighborhood. The meeting will take place in the Reception Room, will also be available to join remotely via Zoom, and will be recorded for later viewing.

Recently, the City of Roseville has invited us into a formal process for reviewing how the “community-first” model of caring for those experiencing chronic homelessness might help meet the broader goals the city holds for affordable housing. Currently, the city has no “deeply affordable housing” to meet the growing needs of our neighbors. Also, the city’s current zoning and building code regulations do not imagine the specific use of tiny homes in the way we are currently demonstrating. But, zoning and code enforcement strategies can be adapted when there is a demonstrated desire.

We hope to have members of Settled’s advisory and legal teams present to describe how they navigated a similar process with the City of St. Paul, now home to the Mosaic Sacred Settlement.
