Today’s author is Prince of Peace member, Deb Cordes.

“The king said to his servants, “The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. So, go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you can find. So, the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests”

Good news. Everyone is invited! The thing I love about Prince of Peace is the welcome. I hear often how welcoming we are. Others feel comfortable here. I hear the words ‘church home’ used. A description resonates with me. I would love it to be a home for many.

Currently, we are discerning whether a sacred space for those chronically homeless is a fit for who we are. We have embraced taking on the barriers that would interfere with our ability to make this choice, as God would guide us. I am so proud of those leaders in this process. I pray each day that God’s wisdom continues to guide discernment and the quest to eliminate the barriers that may hinder our ability to do His work. My shared prayer for today:

God, thank you for Valerie and her voice. Thank you for Peter, Michael and all those leading our Sacred Space discernment. Thank you for Prince of Peace’s commitment to the process and willingness to challenge and overcome the barriers that exist. Please guide our hearts, our minds and our resources to being the church that is home.
