Have you been wondering if God is even paying attention? Over time, the trials of God’s people have certainly been constant. But, if the bush isn’t burning, how do we know when or even if God shows up?

“Now I’m turning you over to our marvelous God whose gracious Word can make you into what he wants you to be and give you everything you could possibly need in this community of holy friends.” Acts 20:32 (The Message) As a community of faith still grappling with a world shaped by the pandemic, social injustices and political divides, we probably have more in common with the early church than at any other time in our history. It’s fitting that the Apostle Paul would offer the message quoted above to encourage the leaders of the church, giving them confidence to live boldly into a new vision for connections with a sustainable future. While we continue to stumble through the particular logistics of our physical reconnecting, God’s faithfulness to us should inspire us to be comparable faithful to God’s vision for Prince of Peace. With this series, we return to the very beginning of God’s story. Over the coming year, we’ll pick our way through the narrative and encounter others who have been shaped by this story. In the process, we too will be formed and reformed by the very Word that has come to us. This story, of a created world and created beings who are loved relentlessly by God, throughout all of time, is our story too. As we listen in once more, let’s reconnect to this life of faith, let’s renew our practices, and let’s find God, together.
