Patience & Self-Control

God calls us to “clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.” Patience is something we have learned so much about in the past year and yet it is so hard to do!

From Series: "Led by the Spirit "

After the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit had filled the believers, they were sent out to live their lives of faith. For the early believers the time post-Pentecost was filled with wonders and signs, and a new way of being in community with one another. Our lives are filled with wonders and signs and new ways of being in community with one another, too. As we enter a new season, we turn our attention to gifts of the Holy Spirit and the words from Galatians 5 that says, “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit.” (Gal 5:22, 25) We trust that the Holy Spirit will lead our footsteps of faith to love God and serve our neighbors, and we will use these fruits as guideposts along the way.
